Gasoline prices drop slightly after starting the year on the rise

Fuel prices in Florida decreased six cents in the last week of January 15, with a price per gallon of $3.26, while last January 5, gasoline prices rose to $3.31 per gallon.

According to data compiled by The Auto Club Group (AAA) prices do not reflect a clear trend at the beginning of the year, while the fluctuation had started 2023 with prices of $3.24 per gallon.

“Crude oil prices strengthened last week on several news reports, causing investors to become optimistic about global fuel demand. First, reports that China is easing COVID-19 restrictions. There is also hope that the Federal Reserve may slow interest rate hikes, following reports that inflation eased in December.”
Also, oil prices were up $6.09 up 8% from the previous week, and one of the highest prices so far this year.

How to save gas if you live in Florida?

How much is the lowest gasoline can go this year in the US?
There are several ways to keep in mind if you want to save money on gas, and you live in Florida:

Drive smoothly: Driving more smoothly makes the car’s engine run efficiently, while higher speeds tend to use more fuel.

Study local prices: Gas prices can vary depending on where you live, even having higher prices depending on the gas station you visit is a good option even if you only save a few cents.

Check apps that notify you of price increases or find places with lower prices, such as GasBuddy, Gas Guru and AAA TripTik.

You can sign up for loyalty programs that some gas stations offer, so you can get discounts.

If you are going on long trips, and you have a friend or relative on the road, it is advisable to leave the car parked at home for at least one day, this is important to save gas.

And lastly, check that the air pressure in the tires is at the right values, since a car with too much pressure will be heavier and will consume more gasoline.
