Dwayne Johnson Seeks Revamp of His Paris Wax Figure

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has voiced his take on his wax figure at the Musée Grévin in Paris, following a wave of social media remarks on the figure’s appearance.

The actor shared a video on Instagram on Sunday, featuring comedian James Andre Jefferson Jr. poking fun at the statue that was unveiled on October 16.

Johnson sparked the conversation about the statue by quoting a line from Jefferson’s video in his post, saying, “‘is this how y’all felt when you lost the Little Mermaid?’ legit belly laughed at this”.

Dwayne Johnson’s Paris wax figure to receive “important updates”

It’s evident that the actor took the remarks in good stride, but also acknowledged that the figure needed some “important improvements.”

In his post, Johnson wrote:

“For the record, I’m going to have my team reach out to our friends at Grevin Museum, in Paris France so we can work at ‘updating’ my wax figure here with some important details and improvements- starting with my skin color,” adding a laughing face emoji.

He also mentioned that he would make a visit to the museum to “have a drink” with his statue the next time he’s in Paris.

Public reactions and museum’s response

The reactions on social media were mixed, with comments comparing the statue to other characters or actors. One user commented, “Looks like Mr. Clean cosplaying as The Rock,” while another added, “He look like Vin Diesel’s son.” These comments reflect some followers’ dissatisfaction with Johnson’s wax representation.

The Grévin Museum responded to Johnson’s concerns by issuing a statement to Deadline. In the statement, the museum agreed with the actor’s observations and assured they are working to “remedy it as quickly as possible.”

Additionally, the museum expressed its wish to celebrate the improvements alongside Johnson with a glass of champagne on his next visit to Paris, as concluded in the statement.
