Homemade Hot Chocolate Pudding Recipe – Easy and Delicious

This cake made with pudding is a delicious dessert that is not difficult to prepare, and only a few ingredients are needed.

For this preparation, you will use a pan of at least 9 × 13 inches, which would be approximately six servings. A good idea to accompany this pudding cake is to place a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.


  • ½ cup of cocoa powder (preferably unsweetened).
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 4 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (can be bittersweet or semisweet)

Homemade Hot Chocolate Pudding Preparation:

  1. Start by preheating the oven to 350º F, spray the baking pan with cooking spray.
  2. Mix ¼ cup cocoa powder with ½ cup sugar in a medium bowl.
  3. In another larger bowl, mixed flour, the remaining ½ cup sugar, and the remaining ¼ cup cocoa, baking powder, and a little salt.
  4. Beat the butter, milk, egg yolk, and vanilla in a medium bowl until the mixture is smooth, and the mixture is combined with the flour mixture and stirred until completely blended.
  5. Fold the mixture with a spatula (preferably a rubber spatula), as the batter is stiff, scrape the remaining batter from the pan, and spread evenly.
  6. Sprinkle the cocoa and sugar mixture onto the batter.
  7. Boiling water was gradually poured over the cocoa, without stirring.
  8. Bake for about 22 to 25 minutes, until the top of the pudding is cracked, and test with a toothpick until it comes out clean.
  9. Let cool for at least 10 min before eating and serve with ice cream or your favorite topping.
