Biden tested positive for Covid-19 again after case of rebound reported the White House
The White House physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, affirmed this Sunday in a letter that President Joe Biden will continue to lead the country from the Executive Residence.
President Joe Biden tested positive for Covid-19 again this Sunday, a day after contracting a “rebound” case of the pandemic virus; however, the White House doctor stated that the president continues to feel well.
“He will continue to conduct the affairs of the American people from the Executive Residence,” Dr. Kevin O’Connor wrote of the 79-year-old president in a letter released by the White House.

“As I have said previously, the President remains very conscientious about protecting any member of the Executive Residence, the White House, the Secret Service and other personnel whose duties require proximity to him,” O’Connor added.
The announcement comes a day after O’Connor reported that Biden tested positive for the coronavirus again in a rebound case, something the president himself confirmed in a Twitter post.

A statement issued by O’Connor on Saturday detailed that Biden had no new symptoms and that he was feeling fine.
The doctor explained that Biden’s result is part of the effects of the oral antiretroviral drug Paxlovid, which he took in recent days to counteract the symptoms of the disease, which was called a possible “rebound effect” experienced by the president.

Biden first tested positive on July 21, and has since begun a period of quarantine and Paxlovid antiviral treatment.
However, the president tested negative in two tests last Tuesday, for which he had resumed his public functions.
“I feel very good. I hope it comes across that way… I hope I look as good as I normally do, which is not that good,” Biden joked Tuesday.
On Friday, July 22, O’Connor explained that the preliminary results of the tests carried out on the president indicated that it was very likely that he had been infected with the BA.5 subvariant.
