McDonald’s prepares for a wave of layoffs according to a press release

McDonald’s communicated that it would close its headquarters in the country this week; although it is a temporary measure, it is likely that they are preparing to inform employees of a wave of layoffs.

The popular fast food chain could be looking to restructure after the cutback, although it is not yet clear how many workers will be laid off.

McDonald had already announced that it would close its headquarters and ordered its employees nationally and internationally to work from home.

“During the week of April 3, we will communicate key decisions related to roles and staffing levels across the organization,” McDonald’s said in the email, according to Reuters.

In January, the fast-food chain reviews the number of workers at the corporate level owing to an updated business strategy, which could increase or decrease the number of workers depending on the area.

McDonald is expected to announce decisions this week.
