Ohio Police Rescue Residents from House Fire

Police officers are being hailed as “heroes” after a recent rescue of residents from a blazing house fire.

Officers in Columbus, Ohio, were responding to a call in the Hilltop neighborhood when they spotted a nearby home engulfed in flames.

Without hesitation, the officers rushed to the scene, successfully evacuating four individuals from the burning residence, as detailed in a post by the Columbus Division of Police on Facebook.

The fire, which ignited around 4:15 a.m., is believed to have started when the home’s porch caught fire, as reported by SWNS.

In the bodycam footage, an officer can be seen sprinting towards the fiery residence. The officer is then heard inquiring if more people were inside, all while assisting civilians out of the house.

One of the rescued women was rushed to the hospital. She’s in critical condition, receiving treatment for burns and smoke inhalation. However, her condition has since improved, as confirmed by SWNS.

The police department commended the bravery of the officers on duty, stating, “Their bravery and quick thinking saved lives today — reminding us all the selflessness and dedication our officers display day in and day out,” as shared on their Facebook page.
