Science confirms that dogs can detect if a person is bad through their sense of smell

As the title suggests, it was recently shown that dogs can easily assess a person’s entire character based on the little questions they leave behind.

For the first experiment in this study, the owner pointed the dog toward a bowl full of treats. As you can already guess, the dog ran to eat. Afterward, the bowl was empty, but the dog still came over and stared at it, as dogs do.

The next time, oddly enough, despite the fact that the food was clearly jumping out of the bowl and the same man was pointing at it, the dog still did not approach the bowl. This is because the dog actually remembered being betrayed earlier and evaluated the person as a bad person.

The second experiment was even more insightful as it showed Akiko Takaoka’s study conducted at Kyoto University in Japan. This is where the dog received a gift from a man who acted kindly and gently towards his owner.

In the next part, however, the man was violent and rude to the person and then offered the dog the same treats as before.

Even though the treats were clearly in his hands, the dog still wouldn’t approach him because he considered the man unreliable and therefore mean.

This is a process that dogs can easily go through while we still have problems on a daily basis. Definitely interesting results to say the least.
