Singer Aaron Carter, brother of Backstreet Boys band member, found dead

Singer Aaron Carter was found dead this Saturday in California, according to the specialized entertainment medium TMZ. Later, different media confirmed the news with relatives of the artist.

As reported by TMZ, the 34-year-old singer was found dead on Saturday at his home in Lancaster, in southern California. The discovery of the body was made after a call to 911.

Reports indicate that the call to the assistance line was made around 11 am, to report a medical emergency at the house located in Lancaster, agent Alejandra Parra, of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, told the AP agency.

Representatives of Carter’s family confirmed the singer’s death to different media, without providing details. Authorities have not officially said the identity of the deceased person found.

Aaron Carter had a known history of substance use problems. On at least two occasions (one recently) he was stopped driving under the influence of alcohol. Carter has also publicly admitted to having mental health issues such as anxiety and depression.

Carter began to become famous as a young boy in the 1990s as a pop singer. His older brother, Nick Carter, is one of the singers of the famous pop group, Backstreet Boys.

Carter opened for pop star Britney Spears, as well as his brother’s band. He also had a part in the family’s reality show ‘House of Carters’ which aired on E!.

The singer left the world of pop to profile himself as a rapper. He had successful albums since his teens. Carter’s fifth and final studio album, “LOVE” was released in 2018.
