Two children kidnapped in Missouri were found by police in a Florida grocery store
Two children who had been kidnapped in Missouri were found while shopping at Winn-Dixie, a Florida grocery store.
According to the High Springs police report, children Brooke and Adrian Gilley were with their noncustodial mother, Kisti Nicole Gilley, after nearly a year of going missing.
Officers found the children when they were checking vehicles in the store’s parking lot and reported that one was in the name of Gilley, a fugitive from law enforcement.
All three family members had altered their identities, Gilley was arrested on the charge of kidnapping in Clay County, Missouri. The warrant for his arrest was issued in July 2022, months after the children had disappeared.
Brooke and Adrian were 10 and 12 years old respectively when they went missing in March. Law enforcement officials reported that both children were turned over to the Florida Department of Children and Family Services to be reunited with their families.
